Ottawa welcomed more than 250 Canadian athletes and coaches to celebrate their achievements at the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Olympians and Paralympians began their day at the University of Ottawa and the Centre sportif de Gatineau, where they interacted with local communities.

The athletes spent the first part of their day encouraging the youth of the nation to participate in physical activities and signing autographs.
