Team Alberta had their first training camp leading up to the Canada Winter Games in Prince Edward Island. The players worked hard and were able to learn lots!
Coach Darrell Nordell gave us some insight on the preparation for the games: “5 months to the Canada Winter Games in Charlottetown, PEI and Alberta has lots of work to do. Training camps are set for the month of October, and I am excited to see what athletes across Alberta have been doing to prepare since we last competed in June at Canadian Nationals where we placed 4th. Canada Winter Games is the pinnacle event for Junior development in our sport and being defending Gold Medalists is never an easy task to repeat. Returning 4 athletes from the 2019 games just means we have to work extra hard to get the team ready for February”.
