WSA School Program

Wheelchair Sports Alberta is happy to bring back the school program for the 2022/2023 school year. This program includes wheelchair rentals and instruction for sports such as wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, and wheelchair tennis. The program can be booked per week and is completely customizable to each individual school. Click here to learn more.

Glenrose Drop In Program

Every Thursday at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Centre WSA provides a drop in Wheelchair Sport session open to everyone. Drop in, say hi, and try wheelchair sports!

WinSport’s Adapted Multi-Sport Program

WSA has partnered with WinSport to bring a fully inclusive, multi-sport program for all regardless of physical ability to discover adapted wheelchair sport opportunities currently being offered throughout multiple communities.

Bridging the Gap (BTG) Have a Go Days

Our Have a Go Days offer a variety of different sports for participants to sample in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Veteran parasport athletes are brought in to demonstrate sports and share their stories of being a physically active person with a disability. The focus of Bridging The Gap is to introduce individuals with physical disabilities to recreational opportunities and promote an active, healthy lifestyle through continued involvement in parasport. Indigenous- Shooting Hoops On Wheels (I-SHOW)

We are working with TANSI Society- Transplant Amputee Native Support for Albertans to develop a wheelchair basketball program for indigenous children and youth, who may or may not be experiencing disability. Our goal for this program is to combine Truth and Reconciliation with Wheelchair Basketball. Our project will have a staff deliver presentations in indigenous communities in Treaty 6 and Treaty 8 in Alberta, focusing on Edmonton and area to start and then branching out further as our program grows.
