Support WSA’s Mission to Provide Sporting Opportunities to Those Living with Physical Impairments
WSA is proud to support our athletes along the entire development spectrum. We support athletes from first contact, all the way to the national level. We are able to provide this support thanks to donations from our wonderful donors.
Donations go to a variety of different areas to help athletes including Have-A-Go Days, developmental camps, and to Team Alberta to represent our province at National Competitions. WSA and our athletes would not be as successful as we are without the continuous support from our monthly donors.

WSA has given me the experience of winning a gold medal at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer. Thanks to the high performance grant I am able to achieve a higher level of sport with new equipment and play at the collegiate level. I am appreciative of our amazing donors who fund great opportunities for athletes like myself. – Jayna Doll, Wheelchair Basketball Athlete | “Both of our sons have greatly benefitted from generous grants awarded to us by Wheelchair Sports Alberta for para ice hockey and wheelchair basketball. These funds have assisted us in purchasing sports equipment, paying registration fees and offsetting the cost of travel and meals. Brayden and Spencer are able to play at a high performance level because of the monies we have received from WSA. We are extremely grateful to WSA for their amazing support and commitment to para sports and athletes!” – Jennifer Tomc, Wheelchair Athlete Parent | “I’m so grateful to have received a WSA grant last year! It helped me cover the costs associated with traveling to tournaments for wheelchair rugby, and allows me to continue to play and excel at the sport I love! I’ve been able to keep active and healthy, and I’ve met so many incredible people thanks to wheelchair rugby, but it wouldn’t be possible without WSAs grant program. Thank you WSA for continuing to support para athletes all across Alberta!” – Ashley Munro, Wheelchair Rugby Athlete |
